Delicate paws pressed into the rich earth. Icy hues scanned the trees, soaking in the details around her like a sponge, ever observant. Ears rotated effortlessly, capturing the foreign sounds that she was certain she would adapt to soon enough. The forest called to her, begging to be hers for the taking. A faint smirk graced her lips for a brief moment in time before vanishing from sight. Nostrils flared, sucking in the crisp forest air, committing it to memory.

She trekked on, her gait fluid with the elegance of a queen. She carried herself tall and proud, as though a crown already graced her head. The snowy dame was in no rush, she walked as though she had all the time in the world. For many months she had walked, a drifter on the hunt and this was the first promising place she had stumbled upon.

Silence surrounded her, the forest creatures skittering away from the wolf that intruded on their safe zone. Toes splayed and shoulders rolled, softening the sounds of her steps. Hips sashayed, practically begging to be touched, though only the brave would dare. Eyes blinked slowly, her frigid gaze unyielding with an eery keenness. Everything about her screamed q u e e n.

The past few days for the young Saxe princess did not leave her in vain. Upon meeting new people, she had manipulated them enough to bring in some decent meals and proper places to rest. Her body no longer looked as emaciated as before, although her ribs could be seen beneath the stretched golden fur around her chest. Her eyes were still slightly sunken in, but they were filled with a fire that only came from eating well and sleeping just as healthily. Vasilica was on the mend and that was all that mattered.

As she walked through the Forest, her temporary place of home, she wondered who else would be foolish enough to enter it without knowing someone was wrapped up in its cocoon of shadows. Black paws carried her slowly along the unseen path she had grown familiar with, taking her to a part of the forest where the land rose to create a small cliff. Looking through the canopy of the nearest tree, she saw the female walking without a worry in the world. She held herself with elegance and the proper stance, two things that Vasilica desired to have. Violet eyes watched her before she, herself, slipped away from the small cliff to blend in with the darker sections of the wood below.

Upon descending, Vasilica watched from a respectful distance, though she knew she was probably already sighted. Instead of coming out to introduce herself, she waited until the woman voiced her acknowledgement of her presence. After all...she was there first.

Movement in her peripherals captured her attention. Years of brutal training taught her not to look. She continued with her walk, offering no suggestion that she was aware of the intruder. Nostrils flared, now searching for something specific. Wolf. Female at that. Ears swiveled, seeking out the soft thud of paws striking the earth. Yet no one approached, not yet at least. It wasn't until she was aware that she was being followed would she address the stranger. A flash of gold and ebony, but she was given no clear image.

"Lurking in the shadows will get you nowhere."

She crooned to the stranger, her voice soft and whimsical. It is then that she would come to a halt, lengthy limbs holding her tall and proud. Unforgiving gaze scanned the shadows of the trees, searching for her newly found shadow. Nothing suggested that she was about to be ambushed, thus allowing her to maintain her queen like elegance.

Perhaps the stranger was shy. The lone wolf had made no effort to make her presence known, though she had not gone out of her way to remain unnoticed either. Intrigue spiked. Who dared to tag along without at least introducing themselves? She stood by, appearing as though she was patiently waiting for the stranger to come forth, when in reality, a flicker of annoyance rippled across her pale flesh.

Travelling in the shadows near the female paid off in the short amount of time Vasilica actually followed her. She knew that her scent was not hidden, despite her frame remaining secluded within the draperies of the forest's darkness. Violet eyes twinkled with mischief noted in their sparkles, but she did not act on such thoughts until later. Instead, she followed quietly and when the woman stopped, she finally spoke out, with the possibility of passersby hearing her. 'Lurking in the shadows will get you nowhere.'

Vasilica's paws came to a standstill, causing her body to halt in the process, too. She couldn't help but smirk at the woman's words, for she was sure despite the proper way she held herself, she was slightly miffed from having someone follow her and not announce their presence. In the end, Vasilica figured she would be outed regardless, so she took a few steps forward and came out to where she was in front of the stranger. Black and gold embossed upon her frame, though her frame looked slightly more bony than it would after a few hearty meals and a singular place to rest day after day. Despite the obvious signs of malnutrition, Vasilica had a healthy glow in her eyes and that was what mattered in the end.

Now, the question was, which side of Vasilica was she going to show this female? Her manipulative side, which she was honing everyday? What about her vulnerable state, where she chose to act weak and needed help? No...this situation called for something more...playful. Playful and...enjoyable, at that. She stepped out of the rest of the shadows, exposing every physical part of her that could be seen. Violet eyes remained blank in their sockets, but her body was relaxed as she took the last few steps forward. "Only if you don't want to share the light with someone who makes it worth watching."

Her Romanian accent mixed itself in her words, her voice hoarse from lack of use for so long. Nevertheless, she hoped her reply was a satisfying one. "If I had seen you before now, I would have been lurking much sooner." Vasilica gave a smirk before turning to walk down one of the many unpaved paths of the Pine Forest. "It's much cooler than out in the light, anyway...heat exhaustion is not how I want to die." Blunt, but honest. Could this female ask for much more?

Her cool gaze was graced with a visage composed of gold and ebony, clashing colors that stained oh so nicely. Malnutrition did not look good on the colorful dame as she stepped from the shadows. The ribs stuck out, her hips boney and uninviting. She had fallen on hardship, or she was sickly. Violet eyes collided with her crystalline gaze, just as unwavering despite her weakened state. Heavily accented words had darkened kissers twisting into a smirk. A compliment of sorts. Her hum of approval was carried by a light chuckle that never truly left its gilded cage.

"You simply need to know your limits." She countered, words rolling easily off her tongue. She didn't fear heat exhaustion, she knew when her body could not longer endure the raging summer heat. In the meantime though, she allowed the sun to warm her flesh and heat the around her.

With casual movements, she would move closer to the nameless dame. She was fractionally more interesting than the average stranger. She had a certain wit that suggested she was smarter than her weakened physique. "Malnutrition does not suit you." She commented dryly. Once again her gaze skimmed the golden wolf, as though to drive her point home.

‘You certainly need to know your limits,’ the female said in reply, causing Vasilica’s smirk to widen. A knowledgeable answer if there ever was one. Ears perked in her direction and she looked over her shoulder to catch her eye. “Ahh, yes, you do...but sometimes, those limits need to be pushed.” She raised an eyebrow before continuing into the next assessment of their encounter: taking in her frame and what she seemed to represent. The lady was a healthy one, probably powerful in speed and stamina. Two traits that were currently Vasilica’s weaknesses...and she knew it.

When the woman voiced her opinion of malnutrition not suiting Vasilica, all the Saxe heiress could do was snort. “Yes, unfortunately,” she said, violet eyes never wavering from her newfound acquaintance. “It’s a situation I find daunting and a royal pain in the ass.” She eyed the new lady, blinking twice before proposing, “I’ve been tracking down a doe not too far from where I currently live and she’s too fast for me to handle on my own. A temporary problem, but a problem just the same.” Watching the girl as they continued to walk, Vasilica asked, “Would you be opposed to partnering up for the kill? Half of her would be yours; I don’t mind sharing the goods.” Her words were hoarse due to her voice not being used as much, but her accent dipped and rose in the proper places regardless.

The woman remained a few steps ahead, not that she felt inclined to catch up. She would let the golden woman come to her in her own time. Her smirk stretched into a knowing grin as the dame spoke of pushing limits. "I couldn't agree more." The wolf before her was not a fool, she was quickly become a likable presence.

A brief chuckle parted her lips as the woman spoke with disdain for her current state. But it seemed to be something she was rectifying. Soon enough a hunt was offered, undoubtedly because she now had a healthy body to assist. Of course she would receive her share for the effort. However tactful, the stranger was shameless.

Her nose would lift, nostrils flaring to suck in the flavorful air, seeking out this mysterious doe. "I don't see why not" She would agree, whimsical lyrics falling freely. Her stride would become brisk, lengthening to cover more distance. "Lead the way." She did not take everything at face value. If she was being led into a trap, the golden woman would be walking in first.

The woman was entranced by Vasilica's charm, even though she didn't realize it yet. That was one of Vasilica's favorite traits about herself: when she felt like it, she could spin a web of words and compliments with ease and use them in her favor. She knew not to be cocky about it, however; when one's head became too big, the ego would soon follow and she couldn't afford to feed it in the condition she was in. So, she offered a smirk and a flash of violet eyes that encouraged the lady behind her to work with her for a greater good.

The stranger then accepted her proposal and said to lead the way. Vasilica's pace quickened like hers and they trotted together to follow the dripping trail of the next potential meal. Black paws carried her alongside the woman until they fell into the same jogging pattern. Violet eyes searched for any signs of the doe's hide - light brown with the occasional white speck, proof that childhood had not completely left - and she ended up jogging ahead of the stranger, tail flicking behind her when she came upon a new spot in the trail. She growled softly to herself, eager to get ahold of the doe's windpipe and crush the life from her body. "Not too far long now," she revealed, body slowly growing tense as they came up to a set of foliage that blocked them from view. The doe had found a spot to eat, taking her time and nibbling on the fresh grass that had been kissed by the sun.

The snowy dame would fall silent, keeping up with little effort as they ventured further into the forest. She kept her gaze sharp, pale eyes scanning the trees for the telltale signs of a doe. Which she was soon rewarded with, her gaze settling on the speckled doe, still so youthful. The eager growl came from beside, so hushed she barely heard it. Lips twisted in a knowing smirk. Their presence was hidden behind dense undergrowth and the wind favored them. Surely this hunt would be successful.

"Shall we strike from the front and back?" Hushed lyrics parted dark lips, her gaze cast sidelong to the woman at her side. She would undoubtedly have the better stamina than her malnourished companion, but she couldn't chase and bring down the doe herself, not without risking her own wellbeing at least. Their best chance was an ambush, sealing off escapes before pouncing.

She would not strike, waiting for her partners own ideas. But that didn't stop muscle from tightening with anticipation or her toes splaying, claws sinking into the earth. She didn't often get to bring down bigger game. The doe continued to graze, unaware that death loomed nearby, ready to devour her tender flesh.
