He was a whore, not a fool. He'd stripped the womans perfume from his pelt and led her on a wild goose chase if she chose to follow him. He was not done playing his own game, he couldn't simply lead her straight to the main character of their game. Not that he knew where the woman was. It was undoubtedly going to be a bitch to find the alpha in question. He had abandoned the hot springs, taking a stroll through the forest in hopes to capture her scent but it was too far gone.

His memory struggled to put together the pieces of her perfume, to break it down and perhaps pinpoint where she came from. There was no way he would call for her, beckon her to his side, even if he wanted to, it would only serve to alert her lovely mother of his intentions.

Paws skimmed the forest floor, nostrils flared, sucking in air. The stench of a pack nearby clung heavily in the air. It was only faintly familiar, as though he had gotten a taste once before and hadn't bothered to pay closer attention. He brazenly closed in, heading through the forest in search of the pack lands, perhaps they could offer him a morsel of information in his search.

The blue-pelted woman was in a fairly good mood. Moods this good didn't often come to her but today, yes, she felt amazing. She'd just left her mate --yes, she could officially calm him that now-- for a little bit of fresh air beyond the coast. Her pelt still of him but she was not concerned with such things. Let others wonder and let them make speculations, she didn't care, and she would happily tell anyone which wolf in the pack was her mate. Perhaps it was the afterglow still resonating with her... but couldn't bring herself to care in the moment. It felt like nothing could ruin her good mood.

The woman's walk was intended to be short. A quick nip down to the river to get a drink, then a trip back to see her beloved, perhaps for a joint patrol. Fate would not have it that way.

She caught wind of another on the breeze. Odysseus. She recognized the smell and figured that the man might have tracked her to find out more about the pack. Perhaps she should be wary. His ambitions certainly didn't line up with hers or Astaria's but.... maybe there was other pleasant news he wanted to share.

Soon enough she found him, barreling towards the direction of Astaria but she wouldn't let him get that far. "Odysseus." Was her simple greeting as she neared him. Curiosity shining in her eyes and a peppiness clearly in her step.

It would seem that fate was on his side today. There was no denying the familiar shadowy figure that approached him, standing between him and the nearby pack lands. There was something different about her though. Eyes narrowed with quiet speculation. There was a pep in her step that had not been there before. As she got closer, there was a noticeable change in her scent too, and the all too familiar stench of sex clung. A shit eating grin stretched across ebony lips.

His name rolled off her tongue in greeting, her gaze bright with curiosity, but he paid that no mind. "Someone's been busy." Lyrics were light and teasing though heavy with innuendo. "So who's the lucky guy?" He was relentless, despite having only met this woman once. He wouldn't go so far as to call her a friend, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy her company, even if she was giving it up to someone else.

His purpose here was not forgotten, just simply placed on the back burner for the moment, in favor of something far more exciting. Haunches reclined, silently suggesting that she would be here for awhile. The last time they had crossed paths, she had been iron clad and stoic, refusing to allow any sort of emotion to cross her visage, even if she did toss a meager compliment his way. But now the tables had turned, whoever shared her bed had softened her up. A change for the better.

The purple gaze of the amethyst male zeroed in on her with a shrewd intent. Her own gaze narrowed on him --less shrewd and more exasperated-- when he spoke with that playful note. He seemed to get a kick out of the fact that she'd managed to get herself laid.

Should have bathed myself in seawater... Were her wry thoughts as she shook herself, as if she could rid herself of the smell that permeated her. It made her fur crawl to have him looking at her thus, airing her laundry out for everyone to see. The woman wasn't ashamed of what she'd done with Cailan, no, it had cemented their bond even more, but she still didn't want to be cross-examined after her first time. Even by someone she was on decently friendly terms with.

A snort was what she gave the dark male first, unladylike and a nonverbal rebuttal to his first comment. To his second, "My mate. You wouldn't know him." Even if she laid out all his characteristics and his name she highly doubted that they'd crossed paths. Even if they had she didn't feel like expounding upon it all... Her love life was her own business.

Blackfoot was oh-so-very eager for a change of subject, one that didn't revolve around what had happened earlier in the darkened morning and she grasped upon the first thing she could think of. "Rethink the pack offer?" It was the first thing that came to mind with him so close to her home territory. "Didn't think you'd turn over a new leaf." Dry and sarcastic as it slipped through her lips.

Her eyes narrowed at him, undoubtedly unamused by his antics. Not that he bothered to care. He was relentless if nothing else. There was no wiping the smirk from his inky features or the amusement that made his eyes glitter. Her snort served only to fuel his wicked delight. She would not be sharing any of the gory details. A low chuckle slide from the confines of his throat. My mate. Brows shot up in surprise. He hadn't seen that one coming. The dark Alpha was quick to dismiss the subject though, immediately stating that he wouldn't know the male. "I may have to rectify that." Nonchalant lyrics were at odds with the curiosity in his gaze.

Changing the subject without missing a beat, she was quick to steer the conversation away from herself. He'd let it go for the time being, tucking away her sec life for another time. A laugh parted his lips, a sound of distant thunder. "It'll be a cold day in hell first." He mused, a wry grin stretching his lips. "I'm here about a more personal matter." He went on, pausing only briefly, giving her a moment to stew about what he could possibly mean.

"I must say, you and your mother are nothing alike." He would keep his sordid affair with her mother a secret, he doubted that would end well for him. "She's awfully worried about you." Amusement faded from his features, taking on a far more tactical glint. He only had one side of the story, he'd be a fool to keep it that way and wind up between mother and child. His weight settled comfortably on his haunches, as though he were lounging about in the sun, a wicked deception.

The dark male seemed surprised at her admission that she had a mate. To be honest if the positions were reversed and she was meeting someone of such a bleak countenance as her own then she would have been in disbelief as well. It still was a shock to her that someone wanted to put up with her surliness. That someone loved her despite of it...

But this was not the time to go sappy and gush about such things as that.

Although a personal matter? What sort of personal matter... she wondered. No words graced her lips but instead a slight tilt of her head. It was a questioning gesture that was short and to the point, sparing her the words that she loved to skip.

It was but a moment that Odysseus kept her waiting. Then it was her turn to have brows raise in incredulity and then furrow in a frown until a snarl ripped from her throat. It was a reflex not directly aimed at Odysseus but at the thought that her mother was still alive and well and apparently out asking about her. "She's a fucking liar!" The blue woman snapped before her attention turned towards the surrounding forest, searching, as if the russet bitch was out there.

Was she? Had she been slinking about the forests looking for her daughter?

There had been a scent clinging around the Vista... a subtle stench that she would know anywhere. The blue woman had tried to ignore it, had plastered it down to paranoia... but if Odysseus was talking about her...

"She doesn't give a damn about me or anyone else!" A warning that if she'd told him anything to the contrary, then she was lying about it. Seafoam eyes snapped back to Odysseus, eyes a mixture of anger... and if one would look hard enough they could see through that facade to a deeper level of fear. Blackfoot didn't fear much... but there was something about growing up with a wolf that belittled and abused you your entire life. Oh yes, she would fight anyone or anything that threatened her family but there was still just an ounce of power there that Amelia held. "Did you fucking tell her where I am?!" No matter how she tried to run away from it or snarl her defiance...

There was a fear inside her that the woman would come after her.
