Anteros had yet moved from the lands since his conversation with Aurelia and Kylar, being sure the plan in motion was as solid as how he imagined it to be. There was no going back from this decision, and in truth he hoped there would be no further disasters, especially not like the one that had fell upon his mother's home. No. This would be different and he would be sure of it. He had made the decision to provide a home to those who needed a second chance, to those who reminded him much of himself. With that, however, he would need some in the front line, those who had a keen sense of smell and a sharp eye as well as a heart that burned with fire. Nostrils expanded to release a heavy exhale, eyes closing for a moment while he processed where he would begin. The numbers of followers were growing, but he knew protecting them would need more then just simple numbers.

The summer sun beat against his ebon' back as the winds kissed ivory cheeks. He remained as still as a tree whom had planted its roots deep within the ground. His mind remained in a constant loop, going over every detail to ensure there was no fault in his plan.

The strong aroma of pine filled the old woman's nose as she traversed the mulch covered floor, taking each stride in tandem as she was reminded of so many things yet nothing that existed any longer today. She had been born in Geld, raised in Geld, yet it didn't feel at all the same as it did when she was younger and even still different than it had been back in winter when she had only taken a few days rest here. It was alive and crawling with flora and fauna, the scent of many wolves both stale and new siphoned through her nasal passages but so too did the many herbs. The herbs were what primarily brought her back here, looking for some mint and rosemary to numb both their shoulders of aches and pains, perhaps some arnica as well but that was a plant she had to be more careful with as it could easily cause death if used incorrectly. Though highly unlikely, she somewhat hoped to find some willow bark as it was the best pain reliever that she had come across that didn't dull any senses.

The file of herbs were being flipped through in her head at an ample rate as she weighed out more options like feverfew as her eyes scanned the landscape. A delicate smile touched her muzzle as her companion's pelt brushed against her own before heading off to investigate something, perhaps an animal or herb he didn't know or was fascinated by. She never knew what his buzzy bee mind was thinking until she were to ask or he made it fairly obvious, perhaps that was what drew her so much to him because there was never a dull moment with him. There was always something he wanted to explore or discuss, learn. It was a peaceful life while they were together and his presence gave her courage she normally didn't have while alone. Approaching others was becoming less panic attack inducing, not just hiding at every chance she could get but taking things head on. Granted, only while he was in the vicinity, and her stutter was ever present and slow to wane.

Her dark thulian pink nose wiggled at the scent of mint further up the way, tail swaying with a bit of vigor as not only did it have great benefits but it also smelled quite wonderful. Admittedly she liked rolling in it to carry on that wonderful fragrance on her being. She followed the scent and came to an opening between the many trees that offered plenty of shade for weary travelers. Hesitant about moving out into the open, where anyone in range would be able to see her radiant sandstone and seashell pelt that would ignite under the sun's brilliant light, she paused for a couple moments. Carefully, she crept past the large trunks, glancing around for her partner whom wasn't too horribly far away, before she broke out into the open. It wasn't long after her feet touched the open grasses; that were fed greatly by photosynthesis, did her rubies settled on a wolf of contrasting fur resting there with eyes closed. As she thought of turning tail to avoid conflict of any sort, she noticed not far from the stranger sat some mint and some herbs that flourished in direct sunlight.

"Pardon m-my intrusion...j-j-just grabbing a couple her-rbs," she said very quietly and shaky, to alert him of her existence. The last thing she wanted was for this far larger male with a body that looked capable of destroying another, think her an enemy and abruptly attack her. Taking in a breath, she took a couple steps closer but kept a good distance as she watched him nervously, gathering a few herbs while he appeared to be meditating, wincing only a little as the muscle in her shoulder was pulled on as she lowered her head to reach the plants she desired. Even though she was cautious, she still was more than willing to trust he wouldn't do anything to her, everyone a kind soul in her eyes until they proved otherwise.

KIDS WERE LAUGHING IN MY CLASSES

Life had settled into a comfortable routine with the pair of them. Travel together, explore, learn, and all the while enjoy each others company. He remembered when he'd traveled with Sanada for a while, it had been absolutely wonderful as he loved his brother dearly but there was something about his new traveling companion that was completely different. She could make his heart blossom, quicken the cadence in his chest, and make him feel as if he were walking on air. Even now as he'd grown more comfortable with her, it felt as if he were on cloud nine and that nothing could bother him.

While they looked for herbs for her, he was always there ready to pick up what he could from Nastasya. He was no masterful healer like she was but he could listen and remember different herbs by scent and their description with ease... but that didn't stop his mind from wandering off as they drifted along the ground at an easy pace. A particularly lovely looking bird from on high caught his attention. The dark male absolutely needed to get a closer look so after a brief touch of his pelt to Nastasya's --to let her know that he would be stepping away for a minute-- he took off to get a better look at it.

A cardinal. That's what it was. Bright red and conspicuous among the green foliage. He watched as it busied itself with making a nest, packing together twigs and leaves. His head canted to one side as he watched it work, ears tilting forward so that he might not miss a single sound and his eyes were raptly focused to pick up all the movements that it made.

"Pardon m-my intrusion...j-j-just grabbing a couple her-rbs,"

Nastasya's nervous voice had his ears turning the other direction to where she must have wandered off to. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that she had company and that meant he should probably go to investigate as well. Even though the wonders of nature could be infinitely more rewarding, he couldn't doubt that sometimes their own wolf brethren pulled a few more surprises for studying.

Besides, the last time he'd left her alone she'd ended up with a wound... although the time after that he'd made a grand fool of himself and ended up wounded. Now they matched with their shoulder scars.

Still, he couldn't very well leave her alone. The thought pained him. If he could be their to support her --and to a lesser extent learn something new-- then he would do it.

So, he picked himself up and made his way over to Nastasya and what he could smell as another male. Raiden came up abreast of Nastasya, brushing her pelt with his own to silently let her know she was here for him.The other male was certainly larger than himself but no matter what, he was here.

"Hello." This was no Fairchild and he could see no malevolence there in his stance so the ebony Taka gave a friendly smile along with his greeting. There was nothing else more than he could think of saying... not with the nervous bees in his gut. It was always so easy to forget his shyness of other wolves when he was only with those that he was completely comfortable with.

There had been little time spent for himself before the sound of another approaching caught his attention. Audits swiveled in the direction of his new company, her apologies of just looking for herbs reminded him of his mother who had also had a knowledge of such. He stood and stepped aside, allowing her to carefully pick what she needed without being in her way. "You are a healer I assume?" He questioned, his voice light against the warm area as his equally warm hues rested upon her. "You are not intruding. These are not my lands," his muzzle turned away from her for a minute as another approached, "not yet at least." He noted the subtle touch of her companion, a traveling pair it seemed just as he and Kylar had been. "Hello," he acknowledged them both now, this had been the first time he found double the company at once, though he was becoming use to the population of wolves in the lands.

"I am known as as Anteros," he offered as a vow of trust, expecting they would find him to be at least a friendly face as he meant no harm to the pair. In all regards if they were not what he assumed he was outnumbered, though he dismissed the negative thought as his sun colored orbs settled back on the woman. They only smelled of each other, which made him wonder if they too had been loners as he and Kylar were.

Shortly after her voice broke the silence, it took little time for her to become the subject of observation as sunglow eyes fell onto her with little consideration in the matter, though it wasn't like he was looking at her in any way that could be considered alarming. Even if he did, there wasn't much she would likely do, she was no fighter and she was often taken by chaos in others. Her ears flicked back submissively as she only briefly made eye contact to view his admittedly handsome features but she did not find herself getting lost on him like she had some others, those that would stare at her with vivid intensity or curiosity. The color however did make her think of both Raiden and Galadriel's gazes, that vibrant yellow though this man's seemed to hold a more pure yellow, lacking in any honey hues.

It wasn't long after he took notice of her that he stood before moving out of her way, something he didn't really have to do but it was appreciated as she moved closer to nuzzle her muzzle into a small patch of mint that had been the closest near his body before he extracted himself. Ears flicked upward as he asked a question with that of a honey laden voice before anything else, lifting her head from the sprigs as she attempted to meet his gaze before they fell faintly down some to not appear at all challenging, not that her timid body language offered anything threatening to be considered. Her limbs were held closer to shield organs and her tail hugged a leg, not fully submitting or terrified but showing plenty of signs she was inferior to him. "Yes. I'm a nomadic h-healer...helping anyone that needs it," she replied, a flicker of ambition in her warm gaze. It was her life's work after all, something she had been doing since she wasn't even a year old, taking on a legacy that she carried alone now.

His voice continued as he seemed to be offering some ease for her to not be so nervous of him and that the land was free. What truly settled her was the warmth that pressed against her side in a sense of comfort and security, leaning a little into the ebon fur that meshed with her own. It granted her the freedom to look away from the stranger, glancing up at her confidant with that of affection and trust before focusing back onto the male before them. "Yet. So you are b-building a pack here?" her gaze held that of worry, not in the sense that she didn't want him to take it but rather for his safety. She had known the Pines to be a refuge and home to many, some less than kind beings that might kill to keep this land despite them not truly claiming it. The scent of old pack markers that had not been refreshed in a long time and packs south of where they stood also tangled with her nostrils, fearing potential war.

The conversation became that of pleasantries as the two males greeted one another with the simplest of greetings, the male of ying and yang not once offering a smile but neither had she, it was only the one that stayed close that made such expressions. Her ears swiveled as winds danced with the trees higher up, birds chirping lively in the sun's energy. She started to unwind herself, standing up more straight to try and be the confidence she often lacked on a day to day basis. Her tail swayed slowly behind her as he gave his name and she peaked at her companion before taking in a breath to speak her own.

"I am Nastasya and this is m-my..." she paused, glancing up at him as she quickly realized she should probably allow him to speak for himself but it was a little late. What was she to call him? She wasn't sure what to call him; they having agreed they were beyond friends but how beyond was the question. Would it be rude to say friend? Would it be inappropriate to say anything beyond that? "...my dearest companion, Raiden. It is a p-p-pleasure to meet you, Anteros," she addressed, deciding on something that could potentially be taken either way, still feeling her cheeks warm and heart sputter.

KIDS WERE LAUGHING IN MY CLASSES

The touch was like an anchor to them both, rooting them there to the spot and letting each other know that they were there. That they would be there for the other in the face of the unknown. The unknown today seemed to be perfectly fine. The larger male was calm, offering a name and an amicable presence. It was something that Raiden appreciated, something that certainly made him feel at ease. There was always the chance that this other wolf was trying to lure them into a false sense of calm to take them off guard... but Raiden preferred to think the simplest answer was usually the most truthful one. That this wolf was just as he seemed.

The look that Nastasya gave him was returned, his own warmth and affection pictured in his golden gaze before he looked back at this Anteros. The questions that burned on his tongue were posed by Nastasya so he took a back seat, offering rapt attention to whatever the other male would say while his companion took a more active role in speaking. All of which he was perfectly okay with. If he had anything to offer he certainly would do so but if she was comfortable with speaking then he would allow her to do so for the both of them.

Raiden gave a dip of his head, a silent echo to what Nastasya said before he added a quiet, "Likewise." He was interested though, in what the other would say of the pack. Something new was always something of interest and this curiosity was shown clearly in his gaze.

A healer. The most valuable part of the pack and a role his mother played alongside her role as a fine warrior. He took this into consideration, knowing very well there were few that knew such medicine, and many who died without its healing properties. The woman had taken note of his words, piecing together the desire he had of building a home upon these lands. He offered her a nod, "Yes, it has been on my mind for quite some time—and it could use a healer if you both were looking for a space to call home. I don't sense other's upon your pelt, and it seems you only hold the company of one another. I too have a traveling companion, and she has recently introduced me to her niece." So now it was the three of them. "There is a darkness here, however, one that is undeniable and one that has threatened them both." A sigh released from his nostrils, a slight heat burned at his cheeks at the thought.

"I am building this place for those who need protection, for those who no longer want to check over their shoulder constantly. I can offer that to you both as well, if you will have it." His gaze drifted to Nastaysa and then to Raiden, "there is no catch, all I ask is for your trust and respect for those who live in those walls." He drew silent, allowing them the space to speak. If they decided against what he said he would not be upset, as everyone had their own opinions of what was considered best for them.

The smaller she-wolf fell to silence as the man started to speak, listening to everything he had to say with an interest she felt herself going into a spread of mixed feeling along her heart. The mention of a need for a healer did catch her attention the most, her ears twitching and turning as she took it into the recesses of her mind as travel was what general stayed forthright in her thoughts as that was why she was with the male she was with now. They never discussed a place to stay and call home, more interested in seeing the world than being kept in a single spot indefinitely. Though admittedly, she had never been part of a pack unless she counted the caravan she had adventured with for a time but they didn't seem to have much in the way of ranks or anything of the sort. At the mention of their scent, she couldn't help giving a small sniff of the air, truly wondering if the male of ivory may have still lingered on her fur but it did seem absent in the air. There were very few distinguishable scents on the male in front of her and she didn't think too much of it, unreasonably trusting of others.

It was his next set of words that had her grimace as she thought of a handful of wolves she had met in her life, particularly here and she let out a weary sigh. "Cyrileth has always been a dark p-place, disharmony controls these lands. Those that I have known over time either have been slaughtered like prey or have lost themselves to that darkness," her eyes grew heavy as she thought about her family, her parents blood whom was splayed on the earth and her brother whom had turned into a demon. "There aren't many that can s-smile genuinely anymore, not even the youth. There are those that wish to change their ways...but are hunted and therefore continue on with destruction. I-...I tried so hard to change that in the p-past but it is such a strong force. I'm sorry it has found those dear to you, Anteros." She didn't want to admit it but she had given up most of that hope things could change.

She returned to the one that listened as her jaw clenched, her eyes shifting to stare idle at the ground as the male continued on, once again hearing an offer to join him or rather them. After a moment of staring at the mint sprigs in front of her, she shifted her rubies up to the male that had a say in the matter, in her opinion, even more than she. Even if she was often the more dominate of the two, if he spoke his mind it was often the choice they would make. "What are you thinking, sweetheart," she asked Raiden, ears folded back on her head with uncertainty. She wasn't getting any younger and things weren't getting any safer but travel and learning seemed to mean everything to him. There were many things, though, that were actually leaning her toward the idea of a pack potentially being good for them. Soon there wouldn't be much land for them to traverse with the increase of packs taking over territories and she wondered if he had realized that.

KIDS WERE LAUGHING IN MY CLASSES

After Nastasya's question the man was ready to answer. Raiden listened with interest, golden eyes glimmering as he absorbed the new information that was laid out to him. As always his mind was working, thinking as he processed it all. A pack... He'd not given much thought to it when on his own or when he traveled with Sanada. It was always so much more beneficial to him to go it alone so that he could travel and quench his thirst for knowledge... however, he knew that wolves alone struggled. It was so much easier when there were others at your back to help you along, others that would give you somewhere to turn to if you'd fallen on hard times. What would he have to offer in return, though? Asya had her healing abilities but what he'd learned from her was still minuscule and paled in comparison to her abilities.

Anteros said that he could stay without offering more beyond his respect and loyalty, but would he honestly be content with just giving that? He was lost in his own mind, thinking and theorizing and so when Nastasya placed the focus on him he had to pull himself out of his own mind.

"Huh? Oh! Ah," As always she knew that he was busy in his own head and was drawing him out. She would not make a decision without him. One would not go without the other but did he truly have an answer yet?

The young man cleared his throat before speaking, "I think such a pack is an excellent thing. Cyrileth needs a place like that. Somewhere where the downtrodden can come to rest their weary paws and I think you'd fit in well, Miss Asya, with your skills you could help so much. But I..." He turned his attention fully to Anteros, shyness temporarily forgotten as he tried to formulate his thoughts into words. "I'm no healer but I would not be content just sitting still offering nothing of substance. All my life I've studied and wanted to learn, a pursuit I continue to this day... if we were to join you would this endeavor of mine still be humored? Could I roam but return with new information, perhaps knowledge to share for the good of the pack? Would such a thing be readily acceptable, Mister Anteros?" He paused, seemingly lost in thought again as he pondered being able to leave then return as he pleased. It might carry him from Nastasya but they wouldn't run the risk of being separated or of her being hurt in his absence if she had a pack around her. This knowledge set his heart at ease, made him feel more comfortable with the idea of a pack.

Then he gave a lopsided grin, sheepish as he looked between Anteros and Nastasya, speech finished. "Er, that is what I was thinking, my dear." If she wanted to join with him then Raiden was all for it.

The woman was the first to speak, agreeing about how the lands did hold such a darkness, and it seemed to be far beyond just his time. Blackened lips drew into a solid line, catching every word spoken wish interest until the torch was passed to her companion. It was then his golden hues would linger from the woman's face and toward her darker companion, Raiden, all of whom seemed to be lost in his own thought for a short amount of time. When he did speak Anteros' curiousness peaked. Having someone who knew the lands better and one whom could scout them was a good idea. "Knowledge is power,"he agreed, his head nodding in approval at the man's wish. "I will not confine either one of you to these walls, but it will always be your home. Of course I expect there is threat out there far and beyond what we know, and numbers will be what make us great. There are some in those walls who do not possess every ability to their full extent, some who need just a little more guidance and we are going to need those who can be just that, as well as those who can offer their strength. If you do know anyone, please spread the word of this place—but only to those whom you trust fully." He drew in a sharp breath of air before he continued.

Nastasya, you will be able to collect any herb needed from here, and if you so desire, spread your wisdom to those whom may wish to learn as well." With a firm nod he then turned his attention back to Raiden, "and you are free to travel where you wish, with confidence you will be careful not to lead any darkness back here." Anteros was confident with this decision, and even more grateful they both had spoken on their true desire for that would keep them happy. "I will not allow anyone else to be hurt," and with that being said he knew there were a couple faces he would be specifically on the lookout for.
