Pain

"Don't put your life in someone's hands
They're bound to steal it away"

Shadowy limbs carried the young Pain through the woods made ashes. Woods that were once mighty and untouched, they due to disastrous circumstances were consumed by a merciless wildfire. Pain didnt know this at all, she didn't know how all of this happened, she just could get clues and guesses, but she will never know the truth. But why would she want to know? Why would she get to know something about a place she was new to? But well, despite all of that, despite the discouraging look of this forest she still liked it. This was the first place she ever crossed by in Ciryleth, the place she met Leviathan, the weird male of icy eyes. As she walked she was eyeing the surroundings cautiously, she was war by nature, always watching for threats. As her eyes melted in iron scanned around her nose worked alongside.

She was now part of a group, something no one would expect from someone as reserved as Pain, but the promise of not having to move more and protection was something she saw useful. She, of course, didn't trust yet on Anteros, the one who offered her it. She didnt trust in strangers that quick and she hopped the male always remembered it. After some minutes she found a river, small but enough for her to use. Slowly and lowering her body, starts drinking from its cold waters. Feeling some relief.

It seemed to be a pattern of his to hang around the red woods. Did he have any other place to go? When he was riled up by emotions he tended to stick to one place and not move much further. A strange concept considering his love of travel. Not much bothered him today, though. He was simply walking around wondering the fate of his future. The day was incredibly quiet with little more than the simple birds chirping.

It didn't take him long to discover an ebony wolf drinking from a creek. His brows rose curiously and he wondered whether to approach them. He'd wonder, but the choice had been made already. An extrovert like himself loved company, and it didn't take him long before the stranger would hear him.

“I couldn't imagine the water tasting of anything but ash, but perhaps it helps revitalize?” He sat a distance away from the wolf, not sure if he'd be met with violence or amiability. He head had leaned curiously and a small grin was easily seen. Lucian had done his best to appear innocent and welcoming, though it was hardly in his nature to begin any conversation with something as simple as a 'hello'. He'd wait for the ebony wolf to react before judging further. He had teased the idea of approaching next to her and drinking from the strange creek, but wisely decided against it. He had tested fate a little too often to try and encroach someone's space. There were too many wolves that react less than kind, and though he displayed no scars he was well aware of what could mar his golden coat.

"Don't put your life in someone's hands

There wasn't rush within her drinks, she wanted to take her time. The peace the place gave made her feel relaxed, without some of the common caution she always had with everything. Many had called her freak or dumb, but she didn't care, those words didn't matter, she was like this not because she ever wanted, but life itself, her family itself made her like this. All action had its consequences, and in this case, the rejection and unfairness given made her be distrustful with others. Trust was something Pain didn't give, or at least it wasn't easy, no one could ever tell if she will ever open herself to someone, even herself didn't know the answer. Anteros either, yeah he gave her a home, but she still wasn't to sure about him and his pack.

Leaving that to a side she kept drinking until she saw it as enough. Rises her head making droplets fall from her chin. “I couldn't imagine the water tasting of anything but ash, but perhaps it helps revitalize?” She froze for a bit but relaxed wanting to hide her discomfort. Those words came from a sudden, and they sounded close, close enough for making the pitch-black wolf uncomfortable. "It tastes like always." She said in her typical cold voice, as turns her head toward the stranger. A male of tan colorations, with sunset eyes staring at her. He sat down giving her space, something that made her feel less awkward but she still watched him. Putting to use her contemplative side, a side that made her always stay aware of one's expressions, moves. Any indications that could mean danger.

"Do you live here?" She asked calmly, just wanting to know if she was invading his home. She was being careful. "Do you know what happened here?" She questioned, referring to the forest, consumed by flames. She wanted to know, her curiosity gave her enough value to ask.

Her expression remained impassive but he could help but feel she might have appreciated the space he had given her. Scarlet eyes remained teasing. "It tastes like always," she replied, finally turning towards him so he could gaze accurately in her eyes. She was quick to continue, ignoring his attempt at a tease.

Two questions came forward and he knew the answers, but he allowed a pause so that he could study the woods around them. He shrugged at her, “Me? No. I'm not from around here, and I'm hardly familiar with what this place looked like before the flames.” Not entirely true, but an accurate enough statement. He remembered red - but that was about all. He was originally from farther south but he had gained an odd familiarity out of the woods. It was his place until he gained his right into Sanctuary. And even after that, he supposed he'd stick around the Red Woods more often than the Pine Forest.

"And I suppose you don't know, either. Any reason why you came this way, besides the water that 'tastes like always?'" he mused, curiously. Lucian was always grinning, but not to appear amiable. He could be charismatic if he wanted to be but sometimes chose to be abrasive as well. It was always up to the recipients interpretation.
