Aurelia had wandered towards the caves again, searching for the woman who had cared for her before she'd found Kylar... before she'd had a real home. She had decided to brave the pack boundaries and slip inside one of the well-known caverns to look for her. She could smell the stench of those other wolves, but Alecto's scent was long gone.

Aurelia's heart ached as she wondered what had become of her companion. She had hoped to find her when The Sanctuary had been but a thought in their minds, but she'd not been able to. The days passed and the pack rose and still, there was no sign of her. Finally, she just had to go look for herself.

As she wound through the dark tunnels, she realized that Alecto was gone. Whether she was dead or had simply left, Aurelia wasn't sure she would ever know.

With a sigh, she turned and headed back the way she had come before she was spotted. She was small and inconspicuous... surely she could make her way out before anyone noticed.

She could see the faint light from the mouth of one of the tiny caverns she had entered from and headed straight towards it.

He had been returning to the caves when her foreign perfume crossed his path. Amethyst hues scanned the shadows of the caves while ears tipped forward, listening intently. A trespasser was among them. Lips twisted into a sneer as he followed his nose, moving deftly down the dark tunnels, hardly missing a beat. Toes splayed, his shoulders rolling fluidly to silence to sounds of his approach. He wanted to surprise the brazen intruder.

The sound of someone approaching him would halt the brute, his body shifting to press along the caves walls, his dark pelt practically letting him disappear. He waited patiently, waiting for the shadows to shift with the telltale signs of life.

She stepped into his line of sight, her petite figure surprisingly tiny. Long stilts would seek to bring him across her path, intending to fully halt her exit. "Lost, little one?" He would purr, deep vocals rumbling off the cave walls. Amethyst hues glittered wicked as he would seek to encroach on her personal space. Like a butterfly trapped in a spiders web, he had no intention of letting her go so soon.

As she moved closer to the light, she noticed a dark shadow developing. Aurelia paused in a moment of concern and confusion, then she heard his voice. It was as dark and sinister as the shadows that ate up the only light in her vision. She blinked, feeling a wave of shame and fear wash over her. His stench surrounded her and she knew that she had been caught by one of the wolves that now lived here. This had been her home once, but when they had moved in she was quick to flee back to the pines with her aunt and Anteros.

She felt the warmth of his breath as he drew near and terror gripped her heart. Instantly, she ducked her head and tucked her tail submissively. She knew the folly of her actions and could only that hope cooperating with him would serve her better than opposing him.

"I-I'm sorry, I was just looking for someone. I didn't mean any harm," she said softly. She kept her nose down and eyes to the ground, not that it mattered any where she looked. She tried her best to control her breathing and not to seem panicked.

The bittersweet stench of fear immediately assaulted his senses. She would cower with remorse, as though her cooperation could actually save her. It was her who had trespassed, she entered where she did not belong, did she truly hope to escape unscathed? An apology spilled clumsily from her lips as she tried to gain control over her breathing, hiding behind a fasle bravado. Dark kissers twisted in a sneer.

Again he would step closer, wanting to press her farther back into the caves, farther back into hell. "And who could possibly be so important..." He purred. Amusement collided with his desire to punish, his gaze glittering. He wondered what Lachlan would think of their little intruder. "That you would jeopardize your life?" A thinly veiled threat, one he wasn't sure he would actually bring to life.

She was a startled bird, frightened by anything bigger than her. It reminded him of his lost dove, a terrible thing for her. The suffocating need to possess gripped him, the poor girl falling into a worse trap than she even realized.

Aurelia could feel him backing her into the corner and she felt a spark of anger and resistance ignite inside her. However, her body did not react the same and she found herself budging up against the stone wall unwillingly. Her jaw clenched at his question and she dared to look up. "A dear friend... but she seems to be gone," she said sadly. "Alecto?" If anything, maybe he knew her or what had happened to her.

Her silver eyes searched around him, though never truly making contact where they should. She blindly searched for a face she could not find.

If even someone could give her a hint to where her friend had gone, or at least tell her of her fate this might be worth it. All she wanted was to know what had happened to the friend who had kept her safe and taught her so much. Her lips twitched as she felt his presence too near her, she wished he would go away. She turned her head, glancing towards the slivers of light that danced around his dark figure. They beckoned to her and she edged towards them.

She might be able to get away if she just made a run for it...

She did as he wanted, whether or not she wanted to was another story. Her sad lyrics did little to faze him, earning her nothing more than a blank stare. A name would fall from her lips, as though he would actually help her. Even if her "friend" did live here, what gave her to the right to just waltz on in? "Sorry darling, doesn't ring a bell." He purred, lips twisting in the beginnings of a sneer.

Her gaze would flicker to him to the cave entrance, darting to and fro. She was a fool if she thought her escape would be that easy, that painless. Her easiest path was between his front end and the wall, though such a run came with the risk of a bite.

Leaning closer, leering at her, he couldn't help but hope she'd run. Toes splayed, claws scraping the stone in quiet anticipation for a good chase. "Why don't you stay awhile..." Poisoned honey dripped from his lips, a question that promised only one answer. She had walked into the proverbial lions den and now found herself face to face with one.

"Speech."

The man said he didn't know her and Aurelia's heart sank. At least if he had known her maybe this would have been worth it... but now it was all for naught. She felt is presence loom ever closer and the request dripping from his lips like saliva. "No," she said coldly. She continued to back away, shrinking into the cold cavern walls as much as she could just to get away. Her lips curled as her mind began to race. She realized he was not going to let her go and she had two options.

In the end, fear ran out and her vacant gaze searched for the slivers of light once more. She ducked low, avoiding the shadow that was the beast and tried to slither between him and cave wall towards the only exit she could see. She was small, and perhaps small enough to get past him without him being able to get a good hold on her. She could see more of the light now and she started to run as fast as she could towards it. Where she would when she broke into the light, she didn't know. There would be trees, so many trees... she would just keep going and maybe someone would be waiting for her. If she was lucky Kylar would be there, or Anteros...
